How to get rain chain offset from downspout opening?

i want the rain chain to hang about 16" out from the downspout opening (further away from the house) due to it being in the way of a guardrail. how to offset it? a chute or ramp? it must look good too.

This is my idea based simply on your description of the problem. If I was looking at the eve and the downspout, I might have a different idea. Anyway, it sounds like if you secured a rod to the eve with one end out in the direction you want to pull the rain chain, then you can tie some heavy test fishing line from it to the chain pulling it out as far as you need it to go. Hope this is the help you were hoping for.
